Provided you have small hands (as I do) Specialized is still blowing out some '01 DH gloves for 11 bucks a pair. Great padding on the knuckles and the heel of the hand, yet thin enough that I can still do exacting movements with them (I typed this whole thing with em on).

:D actually, I'm guilty too, when I got a new pair of biking gloves last summer I spent some time typing with them on.

Best gloves I've ever used are the Lake Mammoth MX gloves. To say I sweat a lot when riding is a huge understatement. I've found the combo of tons of terry on the back of the thumb and forefinger combined with a Halo sweatband under the helmet does the trick and keeps my eyes sweat free (mostly). The gloves are really durable too, which is a big plus.

Those specialized gloves rock! I have two pairs of them myself. They aren't as cool as the Brooklyn Machine works gloves with the carbon fiber knuckles though. Makes getting into fights fun. Fights with the ground that is.

Arrgh, why only small :(
I won a pair of these at a race a couple years back and they're still going strong :)

Dromond - D@mn, I didn't see the size limits on that website. They are tough gloves to locate. Try the Lake website:

Last time I found them online, I ordered like 5 pair. Great gloves though and worth the trouble to locate.

I'll never buy mtb specific gloves again. Ironclad is a manufacturer of work gloves you can buy retail for under $20. I buy the general utility ones (they make all kinds). They rock! Fit just like mtb gloves, but are constructed better and last longer. Black /yellow pretty mean looking too. Now you don't have to wait for Fox or Azonic to put their $40 gloves on clearance so you can tear through them in one season. Go Ironclad!
