So, plans for great trips?

New bikes?

Better components?

Awesome lines?


My biking goals for the season....

1. Clean Mr. Toads.
2. Use the bike to access spring skiing.
3. Be in better shape when the next ski season comes around.
4. Have more fun each day on the bike than the day before.

My goals this year, race expert by year end because of requirement, (placing top 5 in 5 sport races or winning 3.)

At least one 50 miler a week, can't think of anything else.

On a side note, my new Chris King Hubs rock.

And as many trails in SoCal as I can find. Not to mention, it would be cool to have a hand at this "Mr. Toads" which the Tahoe maggots speak so much of.

Yeah, thanks ONS.

--At least one 50-miler a week is my goal on my road bike, with a smattering of 100-milers.
--I also want to pick up about a dozen triathalons again this year.
--To do three road bike centuries during 2004.

Main goal = score a new/slightly used, bad-ass mountain bike, and learn the art of mountain biking. Think I can pick it up as fast as I did skiing?? :D

Road goal(s): 1,500 miles from late April/aarly May to mid-late Sept.

Improve on time trialing and enter a Cat. 5 race.

MTB goal: just get back on the damn thing occasionally its just hanging there.

OK, goals for this year:

Road: do Deathride again (116 miles over 5 passes w/16k climbing in one day..every yr. I swear I will never do it again...)

MTB: already have the Telluride to Moab MTB hut trip set w/the bros as our trip this summer: 8 days, supposed to amazing..leave July 24th...whoo hoo...

OK, before all that, would like to get soem more skiing in please...high pressue go away!

Hey, what triathalons are you planning? I want to do one/some too! And I'm with you on exploring the world of mountain biking too - sounds like fun! Which centuries? That sounds fun too!

Get my hand strong and be back to where I was last fall (I am actually getting failry close, just got to get my confidence back :))

get a DH bike.
throw a no-footer
throw a no-hander
180s in the skate park
drop over 12ft
clean the "twin peaks line"
race an expert mt cross event (eldora)
ride w/maggots :D
get a road bike

trips:
monarch crest trail->telluride gondola-> silverton->fruita

Goals: only road

1) Break 45mph (tougher than it sounds here in NYC area)
2) Enter 1st olympic dis. tri
3) Do at least one century ride (previous long only 70mi)
4) Avg. 20mph on 4 laps of central park, unassisted

Excellent! A forum for pain and suffering on 2 wheels.

Plans/Goals:

Race in at least 2 DH's (JONG beginner class).

Stick an 8-10 foot drop and not kill myself.

Get down to South Shore and have lph and his crew show me the goods there.

Hurt myself daily with a season lift pass at Northstar.

in that case, I'm an ass...sorry.
What i meant by unassisted was not drafting on anyone. THere's usaully a bunch of people riding in groups on nice days and it's easy to jump in...

Work on my bunnyhops to over a foot and a half/ two feet consistently

Clean a flatland tailwhip... so very close now.

My goals are to up my arobic ability to the point where I don't feel guilty for owning such a nice bike. There is a 10 or 11 step drop around the campus here at KU that I'd like to jump, but I'm not sure if I should go for it seeing as my frame isn't the beefy-est thing in the world.

I think my biggest goal this year is not to trash any wheels or busticate my fork again. Second on the list is to clean the 12 foot drop to tranny that is at the local freeride park. Maybe work on getting rid of my fear of big wheelie drops and dirt jumps. Assuming I live through that, I would seriously like to get back in the shape that I was in two years ago when i first started on the MTB.

goals:
-20 footers (give or take..basically, anything i would mentally classify as 'big')
-flow into 'padworthy'
-grease this wall-ride line consistently
-better manuals
-find and ride the geared teeter-totter at lynn woods
-better skinny-log riding
-nail the 'nasty dh line to uphill log ride to off camber 8 foot rock drop into the bushes' at lynn (scuch watched me for 45 minutes not even getting close on 4th of july)
-do some 4x4 assisted big shuttle-type dh rides
-huck down the up escalator at the roxbury crossing t stop and manual through the doors of a waiting subway car.
-huck off of this subway vent, over a fence into the street near ruggles (basom you know the one)
-get a little jibber bike and do stuff with that, including urban sessions on the way to work.
-get basom healthy and back out there going bigger than last season
-RIDE EVERY DAY
-NO INJURIES

My goals are very simple:

I want to ride regularly. I want to ride my mountain in the morning before going to work and ride my road bike in the evening after work. :cool:

I want to ride the Wasatch Crest with my 9 year-old son again this year. :D

I'd also like to ride with some maggots and minions.

I haven't raced - road or mountain - in years; but, I would seriously consider entering the old-fart beginner class in some local mtb races.

I'd like to get more more comfortable in the air . . . . on the mountain bike. My air time on the road bike has always ended in tears.

I want to ride from Salt Lake to Bear Lake again this summer, but I will choose a different route than last year's: Emigration > East Canyon > Trapper's Loop > Monte Cristo > Woodruff > Randolph > Laketown > Garden City. Too much climbing last year.

I plan on doing several centuries.

I'd like to do the LOTOJA (http://www.epek.com/LOTOJA/) (Logan to Jackson) race/ride; either by myself or with a small team.

Finally, I particpated in our local Multiple Sclerosis 150 (http://www.nationalmssociety.org/utu/event/default.asp?g=6) last year and raised $1500. This year my goal is to raise $3500; one dollar for every person in Utah with MS. I will be posting a thread to beg and grovel for your tax deductible contribution soon.
