Hey,

Looking for any entry level work living out of a camp, in Canada preferably. The only related certifications I have are Advanced First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, and H2S Alive. I'll also be taking the provincial exam to be registered as an EMR in Alberta in late November. Thanks!

go north... there are lots of medic jobs in the patch the pay can be ok and the work load tends to be nothing or (damn near) fatality which are infrequent but potentially lots of paper work, so bring lotsa porn and try not to rub the little guy raw.

Hahaha, pretty stoked to get on as a medic out there for sure, will be able to get some courses done when needing a break from the porn. I won't really be able to start as a medic until January though, as it'll take around a month after writing the exam to actually get the results/registered, and most companies don't accept just advanced first aid. Hoping to get out there pretty quickly, tried applying as a roughneck at all the big companies but only heard back from one place, and they were looking for someone to actually relocate to Grand Prairie. Definitely tempted to just go up to Nisku or somewhere like that and hassle the offices until they hire me on though.

Highland Valley Copper near Kamloops BC is currently hiring. They have a camp.

Medics are always needed everywhere. Take your exam and head north!

Sweet, will apply with them soon. Thanks! Also good to hear that industrial medics are still in need, was a bit worried about what it'd be like to find work once registered.

Hell I'd even be stoked on living in Kamloops, would be close to some pretty sweet stuff at least. Fired off an application with them earlier today. Things seem to be relatively slow at the moment on the patch (apparently starting to pick up though,) so if I don't get on pretty soon I think I'm going to take OFA 3 in a couple weeks and try to get on that side of things right away. If anyone knows any places in need of OFA 3's let me know, thanks guys.

Edit: Or if anyone knows of any companies, currently hiring or not, that help subsidize EMT/PCP training for their employees, those names would also be appreciated. Wanting to get that started within a year or so. Cheers!
