I'm looking to get back in the racing / triathalon scene, and, well, they tell me I need a bike.
52-54 cm, 300-500 dollar range, shifters on aerobar ends or STI a huge plus. Other plusses are wheels, gears, crankshafts and stuff.
Anyone know anyone who'll sell something like this?

A buddy of mine has a very clean 54cm Specialized Allez Epic for sale - carbon tubes with aluminum lugs. It's full Ultegra, but it's a seven speed. Nice updates include a Kestral carbon fork; new(er?) stem, headset, etc. He'll include aero-bars and a second set of wheels if you give him $600.
If you have any interest I'll have him take some photos and give me a complete parts list.

Damn, IG, that's a good deal. If I hadn't just bought a bike, I'd be all over that.

For $525 I can get you a Trek bonded carbon frame, full Dura Ace 8 Speed. No STI or aerobars, but this bike is in immaculate condition- looks like it's hardly been ridden.
Or for $350 an aluminum Schwinn, 105/RX100 mix, with STI. Both are 54 cm.

Plake and IG- I'm interested in both of those... any chance I could get some pictures and details on both of 'em?

DT shifting is really easy to change to bar-end.
If you can find a set of Scott DH bars and a Flite control center you can even move the existing levers onto the bars for the cost of bars, a bit of housing and some cable.
Chris Kostman is shown riding these here. (http://www.adventurecorps.com/when/raam/ultrastout.html)
(Today's trivia: the 1988 National Criterium championships were won on an Allez Epic)

Sorry, forgot to ask:
Could I see the Trek and the Allez also, please?
If anything like this comes up in 51cmx51- , could you let me know, also?
Thanks!

My mistake- the Trek is a 56. The Schwinn is a 27 speed Super Sport- Aluminum frame, RX100 cranks and Brakes, 105 STI drivetrain.

Cornholio bought my friend's Allez Epic.
When it comes to time to play match-maker; I'm much better with gear than I am with men and women.
Enjoy the ride.
