And now, a special educational presentation from the Kirkwood crew..."Dropping In Parallel!"

We are live from the top of Once Is Enough, and I know a lot of you are wondering: "When is it appropriate to drop in parallel?"

It is definitely appropriate to drop in parallel when you are late for your afternoon shift. Hardrider demonstrates:

There is also the question of form. "How wide should my stance be when dropping in parallel?" A good rule of thumb is: your stance width should be proportional to the size of your eyebrows. Arty50 demonstrates:

The advanced skier can carry on a conversation while dropping in parallel. Superstar Punani: "Hey, have any of you guys seen my keeeeeeeeeeeeeeys..."

Finally, the most important part of dropping in parallel: hiding your fear. Keep your weight forward, and step off like there's a buffet table at the bottom of the chute instead of big rocks. Spats demonstrates:

This concludes our special magnion presentation of "Dropping In Parallel". Thank you for joining us, and good night!

Forget the gorilla steeze- that's some Darth Vader steeze with that fullie.

And Chewbacca steeze with the brows.

Really like the pic with Pun in it, it's cool to see the guy on the rock above and then look at the angle P's at, definitely gets POTD vote in my book.

Rad photos and tr!

I've gotta ask, does anyone know the actual slope of that chute? The view from the top (in the other thread) makes it look mellow and in these shots it seems practically vertical.

What would you say if... nevermind.

Great shots Spats. The feeling of acceleration you get dropping Once is just incredible. Must be the proximity to the rock walls. That and the fact that the top is nearly vertical...

Hmmm...now I know why I get so many stares in that helmet. Luke, I am your extremo father.

Funny that you mention Chewie also. One of my old friends created an alternate take on my nickname: Artukachewbacca. Rowwwrrrrr!!!

Oh and before I forget...

I wonder if anyone's going to do Skywalker this year. Better get after it.

Aaah, I'm getting hungry to ski some fascinating lines. Second Notch yesterday was a little tease. Fun to scramble around.

Oh yeah, awesome post!
