Flow: Squaw Valley

Squaw Valley has long been a storied ski destination, and for good reason. The challenging terrain has attracted the who's-who of skiing for decades, and inspired The Game of G.N.A.R, a strong contender for most-influential ski film of all time, alongside The Blizzard of Ahhh's and Hot Dog (also set at Squaw).

"You have that out-of-body experience where you start to see how the whole mountain is laid out." - Chuck Patterson

With 3,600 acres of inbounds terrain averaging 450 inches of annual snowfall, it's no surprise that Squaw has a dedicated cadre of skiers and snowboarders who see no reason to shred anywhere else. Chuck Patterson has been doing it for nearly fifty years, and based on his skiing we'd give him at least another twenty before he starts slowing down. We can't guarantee that Squaw will empower you to ski like Chuck, but we can guarantee that it's worth checking out if you like deep snow and great terrain.
