Fischer Rewards the Most Dedicated New Year’s Skiers with Brand New Skis

Anyone who has ever skied on New Year's Day knows that–if you can fight off the holiday hangover and make it to the slopes–you are rewarded with empty slopes and nonexistent lift lines.

But Fischer wanted to up the ante a bit for a handful of truly dedicated skiers, so they camped out at the gondola at the base of the Ischgl resort in Austria, and rewarded the skiers that made the first chair of 2018 with brand new sticks. So the next time your friends give you a hard time about retiring early on New Year's Eve so you can some untouched snow during the holiday, just remind them that sometimes it does pay to be early.
