After a rough start to the 2025–26 season that saw flooding and nearby road closures shut down access to the mountain, the Stevens Pass announced it will issue prorated refunds to eligible pass holders affected between December 23 and December 31, 2025. It’s a one-time exception to Vail Resorts’ Epic Coverage Refund Policy, made specifically for what Stevens Pass is calling a “unique situation.”
The decision comes as a welcomed change of tune from last month, when the resort announced that no refunds would be issued in light of the storm. Widespread backlash online may have factored into the reversal. At any rate, riders will be stoked to hear of the refund.
“While the Epic Coverage Refund Policy does not extend to road closures or traffic challenges, we have decided to make a special exception to address the unique situation at Stevens Pass in December,” the resort said in a statement.
Who’s Getting a Refund?
According to the resort, all eligible pass holders have already been notified via email. To qualify, pass holders must not have used their pass during the closure period from December 23 through December 31, 2025, and must meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Purchased a Stevens Pass Premium Pass or Stevens Pass Select Pass for the 2025–26 season
- Purchased any 2025–26 Epic Pass product and selected Stevens Pass as their Primary Resort for the Core Season or for one or more Priority Days between December 23 and December 31, 2025, by the December 8, 2025 Epic Coverage selection deadline
Refund amounts vary based on individual Epic Coverage elections and how many days a pass holder skied during the 2025–26 season. Stevens Pass says most eligible pass holders will receive approximately 7% of the total dollar amount paid for their pass.

How Will Payouts Work?
All refunds will be processed automatically. Eligible pass holders can expect to receive a check in the mail sometime between May 1 and May 31, 2026.
Refund checks will be mailed to the address on file in each pass holder’s Epic account. Anyone who’s moved recently or isn’t confident their information is current should double-check their mailing address under the “My Profile” tab in My Account as soon as possible.
Refunds aside, the good news for everyone is that Stevens Pass racked up four feet of freshies over the last week. That full service storm delivered, and now the mountain's back in classic Washington form: deep, and wide open. Get it while the gettin's good.
