Deer Valley Trail Map
This season, Deer Valley is twice the size. The skier only resort has been talking a big game when it comes to their "Expanded Excellence" project, and now the tree is finally bearing fruit.
The resort enlisted artist Rad Smith to hand-paint the new Deer Valley trail map. Smith is an experienced ski-map illustrator. If you've skied in the U.S., you've probably held his work. Rad gave the mountain(s) an pleasant new visage, painting from a new aerial angle as to include the full swath of Deer Valley's new offerings. While the expansion won't be totally complete this season, 25/26 sees Deer Valley effectively double their skiable terrain.

What’s New this Season
The updated map highlights seven new lifts debuting this season:
- East Village Gondola – 10-passenger gondola linking the East Village base to Park Peak
- Vulcan Express – high-speed chair serving new terrain
- Revelator Express – quad lift on Park Peak
- Pinyon Express – six-pack bubble chair connecting Flagstaff/Baldy area to Park Peak
- Galena Express – lift accessing beginner/intermediate terrain
- Pioche Express – serves Pioche Point terrain
- Neptune Express – links East Village terrain to Jordanelle Gondola area
Together, these lifts open nearly 80 new ski runs, expanding Deer Valley to more than 4,300 skiable acres and giving skiers easier access across the east side of the mountain.

Looking Ahead
Deer Valley calls this rollout “one of the most significant resort expansions in North American ski history,” officially more than doubling the size of the resort. When complete, Deer Valley will feature 5,726 acres, 37 lifts, and over 230 runs spanning ten summits, cementing its place among the continent’s largest ski areas.
The project went into effect in 2023, when Alterra Mountain Company and Extell Development Company announced they would join forces to fold Mayflower's terrain into the Deer Valley brand. The plan includes not just new lifts and trails, but also a full-service base village, luxury lodging, and slope-side amenities that mirror Deer Valley’s high-end reputation. The deal also means Mayflower is joining the ski-only club. No snowboarding at Deer Valley = no snowboarding at Mayflower.
Snowboarder exlusion notwithstanding, the massive resort is entering its most ambitious chapter yet. The new Deer Valley trail map is just the beginning.
