Darren Berrecloth and Co. Travel to the Arctic in Search of Big-Mountain Lines
Popular Stories
When four of the best freeride mountain bikers in the world team up to create a film, we know that it’s going to be good. And when they create a film showcasing showcasing world-class riding in one of the most locations on Earth? Well, that's just icing on the cake.
Darren Berrecloth, Cam Zink, Carson Storch, and Tom Van Steenbergen have been on the forefront of their sport for years now, pushing the limits not just in the tricks and lines they ride, but in the locations they search out to hunt untouched big-mountain freeride lines. Which brought the foursome to creating the new film North of Nightfall.

North of Nightfall is the latest chapter in their journey, taking them on an expedition deep into the Arctic Circle, where the sun never sets during the summer months. The harsh glaciated environment of Axel Heiberg Island is normally devoid of human life, but the riders find exactly what they are looking for: huge mountain faces covered in dirt that is too good to be true.

With guidance from local scientists, the four riders discover a changing environment steeped in history. The vast polar deserts, exposed by receding glaciers, provide the perfect foundation for the massive lines the riders seek out. However, there are lessons to be learned up here for all. The riders push their riding and the sport to the next level, putting two wheels on some of the gnarliest mountain bike descents ever seen.
The film is out today on iTunes. Download it now, and watch how Red Bull turned an Arctic desert into a freeriding heaven.
