Crystal Mountain Announces Changes For 22-23 Season

This week, Washington's Crystal Mountain announced a slew of updates and changes for the destination ski resort near Seattle. Over the next five years, the mountain plans to invest $100 million in infrastructure and service advancements, starting this summer with a redevelopment of the base area. This will kick off the biggest capital investment ever made at Crystal Mountain, with a focus on more access and more space for everyone. In addition to the infrastructure changes, Crystal will be limiting access to Ikon Pass guests to seven days a season (or five for Ikon Base Pass holders). This comes in addition to the introduction of the new anytime-access Crystal Legend Pass, with the option to add an Ikon Pass. They will also offer a midweek Crystal Roots Pass, for those with the flexibility to ski or ride on wide-open weekdays.

All season passes will include summer access to the Mt. Rainier Gondola. Finally, the mountain will eliminate paid parking on Fridays (still required on weekends or holidays), run a free shuttle from Enumclaw, and offer the option to pre-purchase parking for the entire season.

Following the base area improvements, the mountain plans to replace the Summit House with a 14,000-square-foot lodge. Phase Two of the expansion plan also includes a new hotel at the base area, for which a timeline has not yet been finalized.
