In an effort to continue reducing the spread of COVID-19, while loosening some restrictions, Colorado Governor Jared Polis lifted the existing Stay-At-Home order, and replaced it with a new “Safer-At-Home” Order. Under the new rules, some businesses may re-open, however the official wording orders Coloradans to not recreate further than 10 miles from their home, in order to protect vulnerable mountain communities from further infection. The new rules are in effect through May 27, and the governor gives powers to local authorities to enforce the rules by “all legal means.” Recreation includes anything like biking, skiing, hiking, rafting, and fishing. This means it's still not ok to head up in the mountains to recreate.

In a news conference on Monday, Polis reminded people to continue social distancing and said, “You made the sacrifice of staying at home for 32 days. I think you can make the sacrifice of going to your second or third favorite park for another month.”
