Colorado and Wyoming To See Significant Snowfall This Weekend

A winter storm is shaping up to drop some significant snow in the mountains all over the West this weekend. With the PNW already seeing their first skiable snow a short while ago, it’s now Colorado’s turn to join the fun. NOAA is calling for upwards of a foot for places like Loveland and Vail, and up to 16 inches for Steamboat. With Keystone and Arapahoe Basin already spinning lifts, this might be a fun weekend for those first turns of the season.
The storm will also affect the Tetons, Wasatch, and ranges in Montana and Idaho. It looks to be a snowy weekend that could drop up to a foot of snow in the Tetons and Wasatch. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait a few more weeks for the lifts to start turning here, but this could provide plenty of cover for some early season foot-powered turns if you know where to look!
