China Mobile and Huawei Install 5G Towers on Mt. Everest
Telecom companies China Mobile and Huawei have completed construction of the "Everest dual Gigabit network" according to a Huawei press release. The system, consisting of 5G base stations located at Everest Base Camp, Transition Camp, and Forward Camp, will provide cellular network speeds of over 1Gbps to one of the world's harshest and most remote regions.
The 5G network will be used for the planned 2020 re-measurement of Mt. Everest's height above sea level, and should improve communications infrastructure for future climbers. According to the press release, a team of a dozen specialists will be stationed "at an altitude of 5,300 meters and above to ensure smooth network operations."

In other words, the summit of Mt. Everest has better cell service than most American suburbs.
