When it comes time for our annual springtime pilgrimage to Alaska, there are a few places we at TGR know are surefire bet for good snow and big lines. Among those are the Chugach mountains just outside Girdwood, Alaska. It’s the epicenter of Alaskan Heliskiing, and our good friends at Chugach Powder Guides know exactly where to find the goods every time we pay them a visit. This year, Tim Durstchi introduced the young Kai Jones to the ways of Alaskan big-mountain skiing.

Combining CPG’s expertise in flying and guiding the area with the fact that Tim is a born-and-bred Alaskan created the perfect scenario for Kai to throw down an epic segment for TGR’s Winterland. It proved to be a great opportunity to break out the ol' GSS and get some breathtaking footage for the film.
