Cam McCaul Pursues the Slopedurocross World Record

Last fall, the inaugural Slopedurocross Challenge brought some of the world's finest mountain bikers to Cam McCaul's Bend, Oregon backyard for a uniquely interdisciplinary event. Riders competed against the clock on a singletrack loop, with time deductions awarded for stunts. Despite his home field advantage, McCaul came in dead last, which didn't seem to bother him too much at the time.

That's clearly no longer the case — McCaul is on a mission to claim the world record. However, that's easier said than done. Course record-setter Bas van Steenbergen put down a blistering time of 1:50, incalculably faster than Cam's official time of "Last."

To overcome a physical and mental challenge of this magnitude, Cam will need to pull out all the stops. We all know what comes next: A Rocky Balboa-style training montage.
