As everyone fires up to score fresh tracks across a large portion of the American West, Colorado's Avalanche Information Center has issued a special avalanche warning heading into the coming holiday weekend.

To see the avalanche forecast for your area or to learn more about avalanche safety, go to www.colorado.gov/avalanche. CAIC urges backcountry travelers to educate themselves, travel with safety gear, and know the forecast.
