CAIC Is Asking You to Sign The Pledge – And Win a Free Avy Class

This upcoming winter is going to a weird one. With resort making unprecedented calls to limit numbers to protect guests and employees, we’re almost certainly going to see record numbers of backcountry travelers making turns in the mountains this year. Knowing that, stepping into the backcountry will come with some elevated risks this year, and the Colorado Avalanche Information Center is asking all backcountry users to “take the pledge” and make sure to check the forecast each and every morning before going out to play. It’s a basic step, but a vitally important one, especially if you live in a place with as many resources there to help you as Colorado. Long story short, their forecasts are some of the best in the country, so USE THEM.

If you sign the pledge before December 1, you’ll be entered to win an AIARE Level 1 or Level 2 class. Sounds like a great way to brush up on old skills and learn some super-important new ones.
