

Breaking: Vail Resorts Buys 17 U.S. Ski Areas for $264M

Vail Resorts has announced that they have reached an agreement to acquire 100% of the outstanding stock of Peak Resorts, which owns 17 ski areas in the East and Midwest. The deal will cost Vail $264 million, and will more than double the number of ski areas owned by the corporation. While the final closing of the deal will require the approval of Peak Resorts shareholders, Peak Resorts' Board of Directors has already recommended that the deal be approved.
The 17 newly-acquired resorts are as follows:
— Mount Snow, Vermont
— Hunter Mountain, New York
— Attitash Mountain Resort, Wildcat Mountain and Crotched Mountain, New Hampshire

— Liberty Mountain Resort, Roundtop Mountain Resort, Whitetail Resort, Jack Frost and Big Boulder, Pennsylvania
— Alpine Valley, Boston Mills, Brandywine and Mad River Mountain, Ohio
— Hidden Valley and Snow Creek, Missouri
— Paoli Peaks, Indiana
All 17 will have unlimited access for Epic Pass-holders during the 2019-2020 season, per Vail Resorts' press release announcing the acquisition.
