Lower Trestles, CA — Nothing clears a lineup like a boat ripping straight through it. This week, Surfline’s rewind cam caught an unidentified boater sending it right through a packed session at Lowers, scattering surfers like startled seals.

The good news? No one was hit. The bad news? The internet saw everything. And of course, it’s furious. Surfline reposted the clip on Instagram, where it’s been blowing up ever since.

And it’s not the first time this has happened. Back in 2018, a boat captain in Lahaina Harbor, Hawaii, drove straight through a busy lineup, forcing surfers to dive off their boards to avoid being hit. No one was injured then either, thankfully. Both incidents are lessons: careful with your boat.

"California law is crystal clear: you can't drive a boat within 200 feet of a beach or within 100 feet of swimmers or surfers unless you're under 5mph. Anything else is reckless-- and straight up illegal."

For now, the driver’s still MIA, but we’ll be keeping tabs as this story develops.
