Black Rock Freeride Trail Preview

Black Rock Mountain Bike Association  near Fall City Oregon, hosts several fundraiser throughout the year including a shuttle day
coming up this weekend. I didnt sign up in time, but headed down
yesterday to check things out.

Trail Report:

Thanks to the trail builders,  some winter improvements, and continued dialing, Black rock is ripping right now.

Overall the dirt is great. There are a few loose turns but lots of good dirt exists.

Bonsai DH- has the best dirt of any of the trails right now.

Break check- some loose spots so time your break checks well.

Sickter Gnar- was riding well, but I never hit the lower section.

Higlights: The Runaround got a makeover at the top greatly improving
the flow and speed of the trail. Grannies Kitchen is riding real well, its
buffed out and I like the looks of a future wall ride (?!?) at the top
berm, (0:54) and the mid section has a really fun step-in-step-out wood feature.

Here are a few video course previews for GK1, GK2, and The Runaround.

And a link to last years ride where I randomly met up with the designer, and trail builder of the runaround.

Enjoying the mountains year round is such a treat. They provide us the place to fly through the air, stop and look around, connect with friends, family, nature, and joy. Skiing, and biking complement each other nicely, that's what you'll see here.
