Arapahoe Basin Extends Unlimited Ikon Base Pass Access
Popular Stories
Arapahoe Basin has delivered excellent news for skiers and riders holding the Ikon Base Pass. The Colorado resort announced an extension of its unlimited early-season access period, meaning more time to carve turns without restrictions. This move is a direct response to the early-season conditions and is aimed at attracting more visitors during quieter times.
What the Access Change Means
Originally, the Ikon Base Pass offered unlimited access to Arapahoe Basin from opening day until December 19, 2025. After this date, Base Pass holders would be limited to a total of five days for the remainder of the season.
The Key Update: The unlimited early-season period has now been extended through Friday, January 16, 2026. This is a huge bonus!
The days skied before this new January 16th deadline will not count toward the five allotted days on the Ikon Base Pass. This gives pass holders an extra month of unrestricted access to A-Basin's famous high-alpine terrain. Once January 17th hits, the limit of five days will commence until the end of the season. Full Ikon Pass holders still enjoy unlimited access throughout the entire season.

Why A-Basin Made The Switch
This adjustment is a thoughtful strategy by Arapahoe Basin, which has also been working to manage crowds and promote a sustainable mountain experience after its move to the Ikon Pass. The resort noted that the goal is to grow those traditionally quiet days and maintain a long, reliable season for everyone. Furthermore, due to a lack of significant early-season snow, the extension helps sweeten the deal for pass holders waiting for conditions to ramp up. Therefore, this change is mutually beneficial, giving skiers and riders more time on the hill and helping the resort during a slower period.
