Backed by Strava, the new She Sends Foundation initiative is offering $5,000 grants to U23 female mountain bike riders chasing elite competition.
Kate Courtney, XCO World Champion and one of the most decorated names in American mountain biking, just added anther stuf to her impressive legacy.
The 2025 Strava x She Sends Foundation “Strive for More” Grant Program is a brand-new initiative aimed at young female mountain bikers (ages 19-22) to help them bridge the financial and logistical gap between grassroots racing and the elite level.
While Courtney is known for her success in the World Cup XCO discipline, this grant is open to all young female off-road riders. Whether you are vying for a spot on the UCI World Cup circuit or dreaming of stomping big lines at Red Bull Rampage, this opportunity applies to you.
“Every next level of competition demands a next level of support,” says Courtney, founder of the She Sends Foundation.
“With women’s cycling on the rise, there’s a vibrant pipeline of young athletes dreaming of reaching that top tier. We are grateful for the chance to work with Strava to help fuel those ambitions and bridge the gap between junior and elite competition. We hope these grants will encourage the next generation of female off-road cyclists to aim high and send it.”
In addition to financial backing, selected recipients will receive mentorship from seasoned athletes and advocates in the sport—and in the spirit of paying it forward, they’ll be expected to give back through local girls’ rides or youth cycling initiatives in their communities.
