Another Day, Another Roaring Nazare Edit

The winter big wave season this year has been a mixed bag, but no break has fired as consistently as Nazare.

The break known as "Big Mama" has been roaring all season, and madmen like Sebastian Steudtner and Ross Clarke-Jones have been reveling in the mayhem of the Portuguese powerhouse, catching hellish bombs and throwing down sessions for the ages. In mid-January, Big Mama recorded one of her heaviest days on record, and this past week, she again came to life.

While it might not have been as big as that fateful January day, the past week proved to be just as dangerous, as Clarke-Jones found himself being thrown into the rocky outcroppings surrounding the break by the surging ocean, fighting desperately just to scramble back up the hills adjacent to Nazare in one piece.
