An Unfortunate Turn: Man Dies After Vehicle Goes Off Grand Canyon Rim

A Colorado man has died after his vehicle went over the rim of the Grand Canyon near the South Kaibab Trailhead.

GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK, AZ — A tragic incident on September 7th has left the adventure community reeling after a Colorado man died when his vehicle drove off the rim of the Grand Canyon near the South Kaibab Trailhead.

At approximately 12:40 p.m., the Grand Canyon Regional Communications Center was alerted to a vehicle with a single occupant that had gone over the rim. National Park Service (NPS) rangers immediately responded to the scene, locating the victim about 300 feet below the rim.

Authorities identified the individual as Steven (Drew) Bradley, 27, of Federal Heights, Colorado. Rescue teams recovered Bradley's body by helicopter and transferred it to the Coconino County Medical Examiner's Office.

The National Park Service, working with the medical examiner's office, is currently investigating the incident. Authorities have not released additional information about its cause. The South Kaibab Trailhead, a popular hiking destination known for its stunning views, remains inaccessible to private vehicles, underscoring the extreme nature of the event.
