Alyeska Resort, AK, just surpassed 630 inches of snowfall this season, following a series of powerful storms that have turned the area into exactly what Alaska is known for being— a powder-keg.
Alyeska averages 650” on the upper mountain each season. In other words, they’re right on schedule.
While Alyeska probably won’t be challenging the all-time resort record of 978” of snowfall (which has held strong since 2012), it is the only resort in North America clocking more than 600” inches of snowfall this year. So, if you’re looking for deep snowpack and the legendary conditions only Alaska provides, head north.
