Petersburg, Alaska
I first rode Alaska in 1993, when Valdez became a gathering spot for big mountain riders around the world. Since that time we have ridden and filmed all over the great state. After 4 or 5 years of exploring Valdez, we had ridden many of the lines in the area and the desire to continue exploring was growing. We decided it was time to start looking elsewhere. We were longing to tap into the endorphin that kicks in when you fly over a ridge and see a beautiful peak glowing in the light and waiting to be shredded.
So we hit the road and basically started a 15 year mission to discover as much new terrain as we could. Since that time we have explored and ridden in Girdwood, Seward, the Tordrillos, Skagway, Juneau, and Haines to name a few. The latest mission has now led us to Petersburg, Alaska. Petersburg is a bad ass fishing town south of Juneau. We have been doing a ton of recon flights in a fixed wing plane, trying to map out the zones. We have found a bunch of amazing lines and the hitlist is big. We got out in the heli the other day as well, which was pretty sweet. We got into a small spine wall and hit some other mini golf. The weather has moved in now, so we are riding out the storm.

It is always sweet to fly into a new zone. This is coming in on the Alaska Airlines jet into Petersburg. We had flown by this place for so many years. It was time to drop in.
