Alaska Airlines Adds 7 Winter Nonstop Routes
Popular Stories
SoCal skiers, we come bearing good news. Alaska Airlines just announced a whole slew of direct flights from San Diego and Burbank airports to the PNW. These seasonal routes can deliver powder-hounds to some of the best stuff in the Western United States.
Starting December 18, San Diegans will have direct access to Sun Valley, Idaho. And that's nothing to scoff at. Sun Valley is known for deep snowpack, quick lifts, and storied ski culture. With this new connection, Southern Californians can now go from surf to Northwest snow in just a few hours, no SLC layover required.
Another exciting route, particularly for LA-based skiers, is Burbank to Redmond, Oregon. This flight opens access to Mt. Bachelor and the Central Oregon backcountry. Anyone who's been through LAX knows more options out of Burbank is a major win. I can confirm, LAX scrapes a year off your life every time you pass through.

Orange County is also getting some love. With direct flights to and from Spokane, Washington, skiers from the OC will have a convenient route to the Inland Northwest. Don't sleep on B.C. gems like Red Mountain and Whitewater.
