UCI Downhill World Cup to Go Without Devinci Global Racing

Next year’s UCI Downhill World Cup will take place without Devinci Global Racing, a team that has defined the past few seasons with the incredible riding of the late Stevie Smith. Tragically, Smith passed away following a motorcycle accident in his hometown of Nanaimo, BC this past May, making 2016 a very emotional year at Devinci and the mountain bike community as a whole.

With the move away from downhill, which is reported to be only temporary, the team will focus on supporting its Enduro World Series riders Damien Oton and Theo Galy. Oton rode to second place in the overall EWS standings this year.

“Our involvement in racing and the Devinci Global Racing Team has always been one of our top priorities. Although we are taking a short break from DH racing, our Enduro program will be going strong with Damien and Theo on the EWS circuit. We will also continue to support many great athletes and programs around the World in all cycling disciplines in their quest for the podium.”
