16-Year-Old Skier Kelly Sildaru Just Made X-Games History

We’re always suckers for high scores in competition skiing, and when 16-year-old slopestyle phenom Kelly Sildaru posted a record-shattering 99.00 points for her X-games run this weekend, that really got us hyped. Her perfectly smooth gold-medal winning run was the highest score ever in X-games slopestyle, male or female.

If you haven’t yet heard of Sildaru, go watch Faction’s This is Home and have your mind expanded by the Estonian grom’s skiing. She won X-Games slopestyle gold in 2016 at age 13 but was forced to sit out much of 2017 and 2018 due to injury. Turns out playing the waiting game and getting strong lends itself to results. Sildaru continued her domination of freestyle skiing by winning Bronze in big air and Silver in superpipe in Aspen.
