When Teahupo'o is big, even the world's best big-wave surfers need to approach it with an abundance of caution. 12-year-old Naiki Vaast might not have caught it at its biggest, but even small/medium Teahupo'o looks pretty huge when ridden by a pre-teen.

Vaast might have struggled to make it over the lip if not for a well-timed push from his brother Kauli. We're going to give big bro the benefit of the doubt and say that he saw his younger brother struggling and decided to help out, but knowing big brothers it's possible that Kauli was hoping for an epic wipeout. Either way, Naiki laced it up, and kids under 15 are made of some sort of rubber-kevlar polymer anyways.
