12-Year-Old Kai Jones Doesn’t Need Snow To Rip

After an absolutely epic winter season, skiing big lines all over the Tetons and winning the U12 North American IFSA Junior Freeride Tour, 12-year-old Kai Jones was nowhere near done. Peeking out the car window on a roadtrip with his family, Kai noticed some sand dunes in the distance, and decided to go explore them, skis in tow.

The St. Anthony Sand Dunes, situated in Idaho just west of the Tetons, offered Kai a creative alternative to hiking for big lines in powder. Thanks to our friends at Scenic Safaris, the crew was able to access lines via RZR. Skiing in sand proved tougher than expected, but Kai got the hang of it pretty quickly, pointing it down massive sand dunes.
