Ride the Snake

Editor's Note: Yes landlocked brethren-you too can surf, hack, and get shacked in between this great nation's two great seas, wading into waters not brimming with salt but with trout, and emerge pitted in the great tradition of wave riding. One local legend (Bryan Iguchi) and another local snowboarder currently weaving the future of that sport (Cam Fitzpatrick) took to none other than Wyoming's own Snake River to surf the Lunch Counter standing wave to celebrate International Surfing Day this past weekend. It was fully rad, and yea, Buena Vista Social Club was the soundtrack. Touche, WYPY.

June 20th 2014 was International Surf Day and for those of us living in Wyoming it's never been much of a holiday, but Bryan Iguchi and Cam FitzPatrick are among a small community of mad men that brave one of the largest whitewater rapids in the Jackson Hole area just to get pitted.
