Last year Mick Fanning's close encounter with a shark at J-Bay in South Africa sent both the action sports and main-stream media world into a frenzy. After national talk shows including 60 Minutes, Fanning was tired of the world wide attention, citing fame as secondary to his passion for surfing.

Now a year later, Mick has return to J-Bay to compete. In true Aussie fashion he is decidedly low key about the whole experience. Now his only wish to be a good person and follow his instincts, which I am sure will guide him on the right path.
