For most gearheads, the term "cyclocross" brings to mind a cross-country style race with obstacles like stairs, ponds and planks on a mixed urban/mud course. A world championship cross race must be intense, right? Absolutely. Especially when the championships also involve single-speed bikes, costumes, and tequila shot shortcuts.

The Single Speed Cyclocross World Championship took place this past weekend in Victoria, BC. The weekend-long event is comprised of riding, racing, and beer. Lots of beer. It sounds a lot like the cross-enthusiast's Horseshoe Hell.
For those considering entry into next year's competition/debauchery/shenanigans, SSCXWC has but two rules:
1) Everyone must qualify and race on a bike with only one gear.
2) If you win, you must get the tattoo.
Sounds legit.
