World’s Best Trail Runner’s Killer Sunday Jaunt

Many would only even consider the act of running when suddenly faced with a mangy moose, rudely awoken tiger, or hungry beaver. Kilian Jornet's not like most though. Apparently he takes "lazy Sunday" a little differently, opting to tackle dizzying trail runs a tad under 13 miles long. That's half a marathon, folks, and that's with a total elevation gain of almost 13,000 feet. "Holy shit!" doesn't quite cut it.

Jornet's jaunt took him along the ridges connecting Norway's Finnan, Dronninga, Kongen, and Bispen mountains, a jaunt that lasted a cool 8 hours and 39 minutes. He posted the adventure on Facebook, adding a little smiley face emoji. I reacted with the "Wow" one, as Zuckerberg hasn't put out a "WTF!" emoji yet.

This video quickly settles any debate as to who is the world's best trail runner. Jornet just strolls into his closet, picks out a pair of running shoes, gives them a quick spray, and heads out solo to coolly crush some serious summits. The young Spaniard's got rare (and raw) talent.
