A Year in Life

Editor's Note: Parker Scott put together this rad little video of his past year of adventuring in North Dakota (and yes, Montana) in the TGR Stash, and we love to see stuff like this–namely, adventure coming from the corners of the world you might least expect it. Thanks for sharing Parker, and if you've got something to share yourself, sign up for a TGR account above and upload your stuff!

My name is Parker Scott.  I live in Bismarck, ND..... we deal with all 4 seasons in major/drastic ways up here in the Northern Plains. I often hear people complaining about it being too cold in the winter and too hot in the summer. I also often hear people saying there is nothing to do around here. I put this edit together to show people there are things to do, you just have to put a little effort into seeing the potential! I also wanted to maybe inspire people to try new things, make the most of the precious time they have here on earth, and do what you love, whatever that might be!!

All footage shot in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana

Yes Parker!!!! We flatlanders know how to find adventure. Thanks for showing the rest of the world some of the opportunities here in NoDak & close by.

Glad you liked the edit!  There is a ton of exploration/adventure on the flatland, just gotta go find it…. it isn’t staring you in the face.  The Maah Daah Hey trail in the badlands, and the badlands themselves are both unreal playgrounds!  Pembina Gorge is also amazing.  Lake Sakakawea, Lake Metigoshe, all the State Parks… and on and on and on.

Great music choice, love Future Islands. There’s rad stuff to do and see everywhere - thanks for sharing man!

Thanks!  The music fit really well somehow…. I didn’t put much thought into it, but it worked out great!  I remember seeing Future Islands on Letterman…. that was the first time I had ever seen them…. they were amazing, confusing, shocking, and so many other adjectives!  This song has some energy behind it.
