I have run a lot of mtb gear and can say for certain I wouldn’t pick half these products, but as a whole bike products have horrible quality control. XT brakes have bad fade and a on and off feel. WTB Volt saddles creak. Mavic wheels are flexy and have unreliable hubs. Specialized hasn’t done anything innovative, if anything Santa Cruz should get that award for giving a lower priced/ grade of carbon frame option. Maxxis ardents are great rears but never give much grip for a front tire. Fox 32? meh, pikes feel great but are creaking like crazy and customer support has not been the best, Fox 36 felt pretty good but not as smooth as the pike… The mountain bike industry just needs more quality control and better grip of their factories and things would be much better…
