TGR’s Five Favorite Snowboard Bindings for 2012/2013

Snowboard bindings have come a long way from pieces of plastic and EVA foam hastily slapped together. With bindings being better than ever it was hard to pick our favorites, but these five rode on a level above the rest.

Coors Light/K2 Sports Promotion

The beer that delivers “refreshment as cold as the Rockies” is offering a bit more this spring to fans of snow-topped mountains. The K2/Coors Light cold-activated skis and K2/Coors Banquet cold-activated snowboard feature mountain imagery that turns blue at the right temperature, a sign that it’s time to hit the slopes.

Snow and Sound Mutual Symbiosis

Today you’d be hard pressed to not see the logos of rock stars, rappers and other music-based industries while shredding the slopes.

The Most Influential Snowboards Of 2012

Already making a ton of noise, Jones Snowboards released a slew of boards that are destined to redefine the meaning of the word “epic.”

K2 Pon2oon Ski Review

The K2 Pon2oons are the second generation of the Shane McConkey inspired ski that changed how we think about powder skiing. A handful of modifications were made to the original to make it more aggressive — particularly at high speeds — while still maintaining its surfy feel. These changes include: a stiffer tail, less rocker (it still has plenty) and less pintail. The 179s (they're also available in 169 and 189) spec at out-of-this-world 157-132-122 mm dimensions and feature obligatory tip and tail rocker for maximum flotation

K2 Gyrator 2012 Snowboard Review

There’s really not much else anyone could ask for in a powder board. Ability to float, great response, and not too heavy. Taking this bad boy out on a foot plus powder day in Jackson Hole was a dream as I silently floated through the froth like a whale effortlessly cuts through the infinite ocean. The price is a little on the higher end side, but if you buy it a year later it’s definitely worth the discounted price.

K2 Shane McConkey Tribute Pontoon Skis 2010 Review

The Tribute edition of the Pontoon skis the same as this year's regular version - but is a great way to say "Thanks Shane!" and support his family. A little bit of extra goodness added to an already great ski...

2011 K2 HellBent Ski Review

The 2011 Hellbent is a leap forward from the 2010 Hellbent. There are many differences besides the obvious 1cm added through out. Slight early taper has been added making for a less hooky and smoother ride. However, one of the most important changed is that the 2011 Hellbent is true to length. The benefit of the 2011 Hellbent being true to length is that it decreases swing weight which on top of the fact that k2 shaved weight off the tips allows for faster spinning for jibbing and faster pivoting for tight trees.

K2 Pontoon Skis 2011 Review

I've said it before and was reminded this spring once again why the Pontoons are so darn good. First, this isn't a "pro" skiers's ski or simply a "powder only" ski. The Pontoons are remarkably versatile. While best in any smooth conditions (1" to 5' of new snow), getting to the lift after the off piste run isn't a nightmare as some would expect. There's sidecut under the foot that allows you to actually carve a decent turn and the soft/smooth snow performance more than justifies the times you wished that you had some super-carvers on the groomers.
