Why is there such a stigma around more stylish eyewear brands making high-performance sport sunglasses? Many of the eyewear brands that are considered the “coolest” make super high-tech goggles and fashion-forward sunglasses, but if you want some mountain biking performance sunglasses, then you’re out of luck. I personally think this is stupid and am happy to report that Spy is now into performance sunglass game these days and their glasses are legit.
The Spy Rivet sunglasses are my new go-to mountain biking sunglasses and simply kick ass. Yes, these do look like cycling sunglasses, so you probably won’t want to wear them to a bar or party, but that’s not what they’re for anyway. The Grilamid frame will stand up to some serious abuse, the ventilated Scoop venting keeps them fog free, the ARC lens technology keeps your view crisp and clear (the field of vision is amazing with these glasses), the Hytrel nose and temple tips stay on your face even when the sweat is streaming and the interchangeable lenses keep you ready for all light conditions.
I’m more than happy with my Rivet’s and highly recommend them. It’s cool that Spy has moved into performance sunglasses and if this is your brand, they’ve got your eyes covered for every season and activity.
