Hydrapak Selva Hydration Pack Review

Summer in Jackson Hole means spending plenty of time outside being active under the sun, making proper hydration essential. To help me out this summer, I picked up Hydrapak's Selva Hydration Pack and have been pleased with the results. The pack weighs a mere 15 ounces empty, which makes it barely noticeable when you put it on. The reservoir holds 70 ounces and there's an additional 250 cubic-inches of storage split between a main compartment and two outer pockets. The main compartment has enough space for an extra layer and snacks while the outer pockets are perfect for electronics (there's an audio port), keys, a wallet and any other accessories.

The two features that stand out most on this Selva Hydration Pack are its magnetic clip and its plug 'n play reservoir valve. The clip attaches the tube to one of the pack's shoulder straps with a magnet to keep it in place and easily accessible while the valve makes it easy to refill the reservoir without having to worry about removing the tubing as well. This means no more snaking the hose through the fabric of the pack every time you need to fill up. It’s very convenient.

The pack comes in three different color schemes: grey/red, blue and black and if you're looking for something of a different sized, Hydrapak offers a variety of other packs as well. Overall, the Selva is a great lightweight pack for day hikes and bike rides that I'd definitely recommend.
