2011 K2 HellBent Ski Review

K2 Hellbent Ski Review provided by evo.   I enjoy skiing switch on piste and off, butters, small to medium sized drops and skiing the whole mountain.

I Have spent about 50 days on the old Hellbent and about 40 on the EP pro.
Besides days in the park this will be the only ski I am skiing this season.

The 2011 Hellbent is a leap forward from the 2010 Hellbent. There are many differences besides the obvious 1cm added through out. Slight early taper has been added making for a less hooky and smoother ride. However, one of the most important changed is that the 2011 Hellbent is true to length. The benefit of the 2011 Hellbent being true to length is that it decreases swing weight which on top of the fact that k2 shaved weight off the tips allows for faster spinning for jibbing and faster pivoting for tight trees.

Another minor change is the new sidewall construction. The new sidewalls are an improvement in that they significantly decrease the top sheet damage.

The 2011 Hellbents are also an improvement over the 2010 Hellbent on piste. The 2011 Hellbent will make amazing gs style turns on groomers as long as you ski them from the center instead of from the tip. On ice obviously there are better options however these are good enough at it that you won't be worried too much if you encounter some ice in between powder.

Overall these are simply the best skis I have ever skied all the way from the best graphics to the best float and overall performance. Many people will find that for everything besides specialized uses such as park or racing that the 2011 Hellbent is the only ski they will need.
