2010 Line Chronic Skis review provided by evo - I did not purchase them yet but am going to next week... what I can say is that Paul's comments do not make sense. These skis are recommended for all mountain, including park and downhill (not so much pow since they're not too wide and prob wont float. The Afterbangs are 100% park skis, and are ONLY GOOD in the park and icy trails. They are heavy, they dont hold wax well, and cant handle jumps over 30+feet IMO. They are great for urban/park rails and smaller jumps, perfect skis for the beginner/intermediate park skier who already has all mountain skis.
Paul did say they scratch easily, which basically all skis do. My afterbangs scratched easily too, but their sidewall and tip/tails are still holding up great, with no delams or separations. Scratches are normal, cant really do anything about them, besides not use them...
Although I cannot say these skis are good/bad, from what I have read and what my friends who own them told me, these skis are a good all-mountain ski that does great in the park as well as the rest of the mountain, is light , flexible, and poppy, but doesn't float well in the powder. I believe the Line Chronic Cryptonites are wider, but whether you like wider is up to you. Line skis is a great, trustworthy company , and I cannot ask more from their skis. This will be my 5th pair of Line's. Happy skiing!!
