Question Should SKIING write an article about this place?

Do you want Rob Story to write an article for SKIING magazine about this place and the history of the maggots, thereby publicizing us to the SKIING readership?

Do you think that story will be a cool and good thing or do you think that it will overly expose our community and lead to an invasion of SKIING JONGs?

It's their magazine, they can write whatever they please. If they want to write an article about us, they are going to, regardless of your silly poll.

Better to be helpful, and provide info, in the effort of assisting accuracy, than just having them do it blind and get everything wrong.

Also, shouldn't it be TGR's discretion, if anyone's, if they write an article; they're the one's paying the bills around here?

I see NO reason an article in SKIING would be good for this forum.

This whole thing is a joke now that I think about it. An article about a skiing forum? It will never happen giving the complex intricacies surrounding this website and its members.

I got $500 that says so.

i really can't see why people are so scared of the article. "our little secret will be told" "too many new people" "i fear change"...

well, this isn't exactly an invitation-only club now is it? look up anything skiing related on any search engine and TGR's board shows up on the first page and more often than not is the #1 result. like it or not you're famous now. deal with it.

What's this SKIING magazine about ?

Who wants accuracy? Hyperbole, Myth and Bullshit are the key.

and it'll be more fun that way.

I doooo like me some pie!

It'll be a neat story (yeah... I said neat... what of it? ) about a unique community, but outside of that, I don't see much coming from it. I kinda like that we have our own little club here that not everyone knows about. That being said, I agree w/ Courtney on this one. If they're gunna do it, lets at least make it a damn good article and accurate.

There is a difference between the influx of people who find their way here from search hits about our topics (thus they stand some chance of fitting in)... and the massive number of gapers who read SKIING looking for whatever is "cool"...

I suppose he could be truthful and mention that anyone coming here should be prepared to be greeted with an attitude of either a "GET THE FUCK OUT GAPER" or "Give us naked pictures of your female relatives."

That was hard because I sure do like Pie.
People should learn endurance; they should learn to endure the discomforts of heat and cold, hunger and thirst; they should learn to be patient when receiving abuse and scorn; for it is the practice of endurance that quenches the fire of worldly passions which is burning up their bodies.

    Nick,
Technically, Rob would be breaking a lot of rules of the trade if he, as a freelancer, said he was writing a story for Skiing if it wasn't already assigned. That means at least an editor has said yes. At this point the only thing that would make it not happen is if it got bumped, but that is pretty rare. Just letting you know you should probably pull your 500 back cause it would be easy money for somebody. Lucky for you I don't gamble.

As a matter of fact Rob could tell us what month it is supposed to be in, but he probably won't.

    P.S.
I like Key Lime, Blueberry and Lemon Meringue too! But Key Lime defiantly has the highest stoke factor!
