Bryce-If you haven't been, you should

If you haven't been, you should go.

It's interesting that while hiking around, the most common language seems to be German. With the new American Peso, I guess it's cheap to travel here.

The ever popular "Wall Street".

Feel like you're being watched?

Reaching for the sky.

The start of ambitious trail building.

Tunnelling in sandstone, much easier than granite.

If only there was enough snow to ski.

Elderly Euro guy helping his wife out with a little push. Don't see any elderly Americans down below the rim.

Looming erosion potential.

Planet Mars?

More hoodoo's and spires, soon to be created.

Road to nowhere.

TH - great pictures. The sky always looks impossibly blue there.

Lone Star -Bryce is a National Park.

I love Bryce. That's where my husband and I got engaged. Winter is the best time to go by far. There's nobody there, the snow is beautiful against the red rock, and rooms at Ruby's Inn are ridiculously cheap.

Bryce is beautiful.

If I may suggest one thing - instead of driving in there, take your bike and bike around to all the spots to hike and walk. You tend to soak up so much more on the bike then when driving. Do the same for Zion, Monument etc.

Bryce is out of this world.
I remember to have seen a sunset there :The light was so red that even the trees looked red.

It's been years since I've been, but what I remember most was the sunrise at Sunrise Point. The vivid colors changing with every minute as the sun slowly ascends were absolutely amazing. Gotta get back there someday.

I was there in 1989. I have to go back. I thought the place looked like a Martian lanscape.

Nice pic!!!!! Thanks.

I love that place. One time,in winter, when we were there we got up for a sunrise, but there was no sun. Just about a foot of fresh though,so we just burnt a joint on the observation point. Had the entire place to ourselves. Its def. one of the most out-of-this-world places in the country, maybe on the planet.

Ive heard in the winter the park service loans out free pairs of snowshoes when there is lots of snow, and the lodge drops its rates to something like 50 bucks a night.

When I lived in Cedar, I used to go to Bryce almost once a month. Incredibly beautiful and peaceful there.

Wonderful pix, TH.

I did a mad dash through Capitol Reef, Bryce and Zion in two days a long time ago, and have been back several times since. That area is a photographer's paradise.

Last time I was at Bryce it snowed, but not enough to ski. The few ski photos I've seen of Bryce are truly spectacular.
