Jackson early summa pics
Looking through the Big Sky thread made me realize how much I like seeing photos of the trails I get to ride. I thought it's about time I contribute something.
Photos taken by my friend Brett...all are on the pass.

Hip jump on Parallel Trail

First attempt on the rock step up-step down...not so much.

About twenty five yards down the trail from the rock jump there is a nice double:

Holy balls, you hit everything big there. How is the boulder step up anyways? And how do you get speed for the double afterwards?
And how smooth is the 'Trust Jesus' gap?

FCKN A, well done.
I helped build a bunch of those, and I don't hit any of em!
The parallel gap came out sweet, that is some fair air.
Well done!Forum Cross Pollinator, gratuitously strident

Unaffiliated: video of Big Sky and JH. Made by an original Team 13 member who used to live in JH. I've never seen it until today though.

Thanks guys. When you're on the trails you can tell that the trailbuilders really know how to ride well...everything hits smooth and they make good use of the terrain and obstacles already in place. I feel quite guilty for not being at any of the designated dig days, so I try to get out there with rakes and shovels when I can.
The rock step up is tricky because of the tight/brief landing on top. My first time I came in a little hot and my front wheel slipped off towards the far side. Its easiest if you go a little slower, so your rear wheel catches the uphill. However, if you end up losing too much momentum, you really have to be prepared to pull up hard and stay over the bike when you come off the rock onto the dirt landing. When that happens, I usually land closer to the riders left edge of the landing, facing too far left. So in short...don't go to fast...nor too slow.
If you hit that landing smooth, a couple hard pedal strokes and you can clear the double without problem. Things are so dry and firm right there that it's not bad at all. Pedal until just before "that root" (the last one before the double). Bunny hop the root, land and just pump the transition into the takeoff, you'll be money.
Trust Jesus...easier than it looks. The first time I over shot the landing, which is rather short. It was the first time in about a year that I bottomed both my front and rear suspension at the same time. However, it felt better than shorting the jump. The times I looked at it before, the lip looked like it would kick you UP there. It feels quite similar to the first double on Jimmy's. On the run in for Trust Jesus, I'd pedal once or twice from the start, then take the mellow right turn and coast into the takeoff. No brakes, though.
I think I have Tues/Wed off next week. I'd love to go ride with some other dorks.

The video is actually shot all over the place, Snow King, Lithiium, Crater, Jimmy's, Parallel, etc.
Really cool to see a compilation.
Shit is going off out here...including the CC trails scene.

Dang, you're a floatin', x-uppin' fool.
I like that picture of the x-up while wearing a sleeveless XC racerboy jersey, you should take one where you're wearing lycra shorts, some bright colored disco slippers, a visorless roadie helmet, and halfie gloves.

Slippy that was a sweet vid.
I've seen a Team 13 skiing vid that had footage from backcountry just outside Club LT on the MT/ID border. Same Team 13?
