    Baldy Chute In Pow 6-7-07

Well, after the taunting from Alto, we decided to "take all the clothes off, instead of just going up the skirt". It paid off.

Got a late 7:45am start only to find alot of people in the parking lot. Damn, Baldy Main Chute has gotta be tracked out. Nope. Everyone we talked to stayed away from it.

I couldn't resist it today. We skied half of it yesterday, and bailed due to avy hazard. Today, things were a little different. Amazing what a little time does. Our tracks were filled in, and it was deep!

Powstash, and some CEO from some tiny internet gear store were my partners today.

I'm not lying, it really is June.

The CEO, keeping an eye on his employees. I think they were BOTH late for meetings today.

Booting up the couloir was at times a waist deep pig wallow. So we opted for the rock on several occasions.

Powstash, getting first tracks, and loving it.

Jim goes next. I guess he does "Use the gear he sells", and he uses it quite well. Ripping on the tele's.

Flat light, still snowing, foggy. But the turns were butter smooth. No heavy pow here.

The crew, late for another important meeting. I guess the current meeting was more important. Good call.

On the drive down, "The Boss" busted out the laptop and had Powstash download my images before reaching the bottom of the canyon. Efficiency at it's best. Unfortunately for him, his battery wasn't up to the task.

This was not only a good June pow day, it was as good as any pow day I had this year. Good crew, stable snow, nice line. Maybe now we can quit for the year.

    Trackhead,

I think my crew ran into you guys as we bottomed out of the shoulder while you were skinning up. Anyways, not that I was going all the way up (Baldy shoulder was good enough for my fat ass), but I think your mis-information campaign from yesterday's post paid off and kept everyone away. Anyways, great job getting after it!

You're gonna stand there, owning a fireworks stand, and tell me you don't have no whistling bungholes, no spleen spliters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker donts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistling kitty chaser?

Less wind, a bit warmer, and bomber snow pack. It welded overnight.
