Cool TR: It had to be done. Timberline, OR 9.16.06

What? And Why? First "Lift Served" North American Pow 06-07 season
    Where? Timberline Snowfield, Oregon
the who can't resist crew: Ptavv, Girlski, Zbo, Squirrel99 - and a special welcome back to BC-FLOW!!!

It started with very little momentum. Colder temps and precip. Perhaps a leisurely hike to Camp Muir would supress the urge.
But then after checking the weather forecasts and snow report- Timberline suddenly thrust to the top of the list. Lift served powder in September?
To quote Girlski, "Do my friends realize the street value of this?"

A phone call later to Zbo. He laughed at the first notion- calling me insane. But of course he knew something had to be worth a look.
Then a call to the one friend we've all been waiting to make turns with since February- BC-Flow. The group was set. And Ptavv would join us later.
First things first- to come to face the fact this mission would require a good 3.5 hour drive from Seattle

Things were looking up upon our arrival

Unfortunately for this guy- the weather was not so pleasant. The race runners were not quite as elated to be at Hood as we were

Although Palmer was on weather hold the first hour- the skys cleared and we were among the first chairs up.

    BC-Flow back on board!

    mmmnnn. powder.

The wide receiver and cheerleader equally excited.

Zeedash & BC-Flow starting the first lap into some wind blown smooveness

Girlski making some belated birthday powder turns

    Is it really September?

another lift ride and it's still plenty of room - looking good!

    upon closer inspection

but sometimes you have this inner thought telling you a little hiking will reap greater rewards. Zbo, Ptavv, and I set forth to satisfy that urge

    zbo takes advantage

    my turn! my turn!

girlski & ptavv enjoy british oregonia

but what girlski really wanted for her birthday...some rear entry (err, boots)

    more please

the wind buffing made high speed groomers another quality choice - all 1500+ vert available

a dreamy September sale in the White Aisle

Ptavv after just completing some september powder turns

then the fog clouds rolled in (and it was time for some Huck Shakes)

Not bad, eh? Guess this one's gonna be up on the fridge for a while

Ptavv- nice making turns with you. And felt great to be out with the full team again! PNDub Slay'n

BC-Flow- Welcome back to the starting line up!

It's 2:23am in Bellingham. I just showed my wife these pics from today and she told me I have to leave now for Timberline and ski Sunday, whatever should I do?
In drove this drunken madman and stopped on a dime! Unfortunately the dime was in Mr. Rococo's pocket!

    Hit any rocks?

Nice TR, wish I could have gone down too, but I had other stuff to do and didn't have my shit in gear (at all).

Maybe I'll go this week if it rains/snows more.
