A Very Corny Mammoth TR - 6/10 & 6/11 2006
The Place: Mammoth Mountain, CA
The Participants: Corky, Mrs Corky (yup, we have no friends )
Due to the cheap late season digs, the Mrs and I got to enjoy a really sweet weekend staying slopeside at The Mammoth Mountain Inn. What a joy to have your room right by the lifts...something I've been too cheap to spring for until now!!
Saturday was as perfect as it gets this time of year....frozen solid when we got out at &:45 so we headed back for a big breakfast....back out at 9:30 for absolutely PERFECT corn all day with temps the 40's!! Sunday was maybe 5 or 10 degrees warmer and a tad sloppier but basicall the same deal! Oh, yeah and there was essentially NOBODY there...
...the Mrs pulling the weapons out of the car looking like she's about whoop some Mammy ass!!
....view from the gondola....oohhh yeahh, the monsters know what they like...
...the Mrs hiking for the goods past chair 23...
....I even broke out the helidogs for a little test drive in the corn...they liked the scenery too!!
...but they liked this view even better!!
...and now for some action....
...have I mentioned yet that my wife really likes spring skiing at Mammoth...
...mmm hmmm...
....oh yeah...
.... !!!
I enjoyed myself too ...
...wheeeee!!!
....I even got to bust out the old bump stylie ...
...Mammoth just keeps on giving in a BIG way ...
....oh yeah...what a weekend!! GO YANKS!!
(my apologies for the distant photos...my zoom is busted)

So is the snow at Mammoth this time of year fast or sticky and slow?

schweeet. Mammoth still has a ton of snow on the upper mountain. I hiked accross to Lincoln mountain from Dave's Run on my last run on both Saturday and Sunday. At 2.30 in the afternoon it was still money both days.

I'm confused. You skied Mammoth or found one sitting to your left?
