    Tacul TR 27 May

Quite a crowd of us set out on first lift. Me, Redskea, Steph, Michelle and Rufus. The Tacul was our target. By the time we made it to the steep bit (where you have to bootpack/crampon up for 50feet) we were all a bit spread out. Rufus had run off ahead - I didn't believe him yesterday when he said he was unfit and not used to altitude at the moment. Steph and Michelle dispite their office lives were trying to catch up with Rufus and I was taking things easy behind Redskea and Emma.

Emma at the top of the steep bit asking if she can put her skis back on.

From here on up Redskea bootpacked and Emma and I skinned. Due to a few tricky bits and a handfull of people booting the skintrack we were a lot slower.
By the time we had reached the summit Rufus was well on his way home. Steph and Michelle were on the summit and Redskea had been waiting a while.
The last section to the summit is a bit airy. Down to Redskea's right it drops off about the same vert as Whistler Mountain.....thats just to the glacier.

And avoiding the steep climbing bit

It was a bit windy at times

The skin back up to the Midi was exhausting. We should have skied down on Montonvers. Not only that on the last section the cloud came in and the wind got up. We had to crawl the last 50m to avoid being blown off the ridge!

Mont Blanc du Tacul from home this evening.

That hair is looking quite debonaire.
    Thanks for the CDs.
I figured they'd all be CAD files when I got them, instead of porn.
Just stuck Apocalypse Snow in the player to watch.
    Nice chicas, Tom.
You know I wish I was there.
    Alas....

    Nice.

    Again.

It looks like you got a decent snowpack there this winter?

Looks like season is still on,big time.

3500ish to 4200ish meters. The tram tops out at 3842m... Skied down to Montovers today. Still snow on the glacier down to about 2100m

Get a haircut, ya damn hippy!

Beautiful as always. The one pic with the snow wall makes me want to poop.
